For example: steel sheet 30 mm, width 0,6 m, 2 pieces, transportation speed 1,85 m/min 0,6 õ 0,03 õ 1,85 õ 8.000 õ 2 = 532,8 kg/min or (0,6 + 0,03) õ 4 õ 1,85 =4,66 m2/min The length of cleaned objects has no meaning. The dimensions of pieces for cleaning on rotating table are according to its diameter (max Ø2m) Shot blast chamber is that very part of machine where the cleaning takes place. Chamber is box-type and is manufactured of RAEX 37-52 steel and wear resistant manganese steel sheets protect its central part inside. They are 6 … 10 mm and easy to replace. The applying of cheaper material for wear resistance becomes even more expensive because of great hewing effect. A rubber sheet applying is possible as an alternative under some circumstances. Chamber’s walls and top are equipped with openings for turbines. The walls can design as transferable to provide the optimal distance from cleaned surface. The bottom of the chamber is a kind of collecting pyramid silo with walkway mesh above it.
Turbine is formed either of six special steel and hardened blades attached to running wheel or with located in radial direction between two side parallel plate blades. The turbine diameter is 400 mm. Blades are flat and well wear resistant. Their hardness after hardening exceeds 60 HRC. (The hardness of steel shot is between 41. . .49 HRC. Sometimes even 50. . .60 HRC) It is easy to replace blades if necessary by unlocking the stop pin. Wearing of blades is obvious because each single shot piece moves along them with the speed 63 m/sec. Each turbine is placed inside the case, attached to the opening in the cleaning chamber. Case inside is protected with and wear resistant and easy to replace steel sheets. The axles are equipped with special laurels because large rotating mass causes the vibration of turbine. Not enough that turbine wheel requires balancing, but turbine blade should be calibrated by weight as well. The turbines rotate constantly. Never the less the shot is feuded only, when object is in the shot blast chamber. The gravity feed of shot and uniform distribution to the turbines from the supply silo is controlled by connected to work together with object conveying equipment electro-pneumatic shot valves. Tambour tunnels are the steel constructions on both enter/exit sides of chamber Tunnels have openings for blotter sucking channels, for removing dust containing air. There are cascade rubber curtains between shot blast chamber and tunnels. Same curtains are on both enter/exit sides of tunnels. One can use different types of curtains or, for example, chains or doors. Thus one protects the surrounding area against scattering shot and prevents shot from scattering. When leaving the chamber some rest of shot is possible on the horizontal surfaces. It is removed from either automatically by rotating brushes, or by hand with compressed air especially from the difficult profiles. Applying of both gives the best result. Certainly cleaned pieces can blotter until it is clean enough. Screws and elevators serve to return used shot for new cycle after it being cleaned. The returning begins from the floor silo, which have a gutter attached to its bottom with bolts. Made of wear resistant steel screw is placed inside it for moving shot mass in horizontal direction to the base of elevator. Elevator continues moving shot in vertical direction to the store silo. elevators bands are made of reinforced rubber and are stretched with the adjustment screws placed upside. Lifting buckets are attached with special bolts. Elevator is equipped with rotation control. Filtration. All the shot blast machines are equipped with filter and electric ventilator. Filtration system is constructed to suck dust, rust and knocked down scale, containing air from cleaning chamber and tunnels.
Used shot contents knocked down scale, rust, dust, others and is filtered in located on the top of elevator dust separator. After sizing in cascade separator shot drops back in the supply silo. Needed for this operation air comes from connected to the separator ventilator.
The filter is installed near the machine and connected with shot blast chamber and dust separator of supply silo by air conduits. On the side of the filter there is a primary separator for catching the biggest pieces and dropping them down in the container. For dust removing is used a full automatic, dry and equipped with a compressed-air-shaker cassette filter. The selection of filter depends on the amount of air needed which varies from 5000 m3/h to 30 000 m3/h, regenerated air cleanness degree required (class 50 mg/m3), free place available for filter and the possibility of dump containers removing. The regenerated air is guided back in the chamber for new cycle. Never the less the quality of filtration is so high, that it can be directed even inside the plant. When conducting filtered air outside the building, the compensating amount should be let inside the building. On the other hand much more profitably to leave the filtered air inside the building and thus reduce heating expenses.
There are maintenance hatches for servicing the filter cassettes. Dust collector has a system of dump containers.
Automatic controls the way the object is conveyed through the chamber, immediately switches the feeding of shot on, when object comes in and off, when it is leaves away. Thus is prevented the unnecessary feed of shot and reduced the consumption of shot as well as other parts. Shot feed automatic is based either on the effect of reflected from object light beam impulse, or on the inputted manually information about object length and start moment.
